How to Avoid or Reduce Condensation

Belle Vue court

Produce less moisture

Ventilate to remove moisture

Ventilate to remove moisture

Reduce the potential for condensation by producing less humidity.  Always cook with pan lids on and turn the heat down.

When filling the bath, run the cold water first, then add hot.

Never dry laundry on radiators.

Dry washing in a closed room with the window ajar.

You can ventilate your room without making draughts.

Some ventilation is needed to get rid of the moisture at the time, including people's breathing.  Keep window vents open, or keep a window slightly ajar.

Use a dehumidifier

Use a window vacuum

Dehumidifiers are appliances that remove excess moisture from the air, effectively reducing humidity levels.

Dehumidifiers are great for preventing mould and mildew growth, improving air quality, and creating a more comfortable indoor environment.

Dehumidifiers are very cheap to run.

Window vacuums, also known as window vacs or electric squeegees, are handheld cleaning tools designed to remove moisture from windows, mirrors, and other smooth surfaces.  Window vacs are particularly useful for managing condensation.
